On October 21st, 15 journalists who came to Korea to cover 2014 ITU visited the LG CNS IT data center in Sang-Am.
These journalists were scheduled to stay in Korea from the 18th to 24th, and visited LG CNS Sang-Am data center after participating at the Busan ITU Plenipotentiary Conference and World IT Show. They also planned to go to Samsung Electronics’ Innovation Museum, Universities, and the Korean press during their stay.
The press also had a chance to learn about LG CNS and its IT services starting with Se-Cheon Oh, director of the PR department. Hwang-Gi Kim, from the global infrastructure service department also joined to help provide the press with quality information on the corporation. After that, they were introduced to more LG CNS IT technologies such as its smart green city, smart transportation, and smart school in detail.
One of the most interesting things for the journalists was the data center’s access control system: After you pass through the security gate, a biometric verification system controls access by identifying a person’s vein pattern and comparing it to ones on record in their database. Even if you get past the round security area where people can go though one by one, each person’s weight and height have to be checked and compared to info on the database as well to get through the door.
Reporters from countries that either have an LG CNS corporate body or contracted a project with LG CNS such as Poland, Brazil, Mexico, Uzbekistan, India, and Indonesia especially were interested in LG CNS’s IT solutions and technology status, and also shared their will to learn more about LG CNS in the future.
